Accidents at Work

Duty of Care

It is unfortunate, but accidents in the workplace are a common occurence.

As an employee, the duty of care that an employer owes you is of a very high standard. Generally, unless an employee was blatantly responsible for an accident, the employer will be held responsible for injuries suffered by an employee in the course of their work.

"It shall be the duty of every employer to ensure, so far as is reasonably practicable the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work of all his employees."

- Duty of Care, Safety In Industry Act 1980
